Common cultural development, development of creative abilities and motility is an important component of the P'titCREF project.

The original extracurricular activities Les p’tits plus offer parents various classes, keeping a balance between creative (art and music), sports (karate, dancing, yoga etc.) and informative (soroban, ecology, geography etc.) activities. Either invited professionals (artists, clowns, teachers of martial arts) or P’titCREF teachers lead the groups. Teachers are selected by their profession, dynamism, originality and ability to adapt.

All children can join Les p’tits plus classes irrespective of whether they study at P’titCREF.

Young artists

The children will work with various materials, a form, colour and use various tools and techniques adapted according to their age. Through practical work, the child realises their creative abilities, develops motility (sleight of hand, co-ordination), grows in the psychological plan (content from the work made, from success, from independence) and develops imagination.

This themed group offers the following classes:

  • Painting: gouache, finger-type paints, various techniques
  • Modeling: clay, salty dough, plasticine
  • Drawing: free expression, illustration of stories
  • Volume forms: use of various materials, papier-mâché

In addition to the above-mentioned classes, children will be taught in batik, creation of a suit, and learn about sculpture bases. Equipment and a choice of works will depend on the age of the children and the group size.

Young chefs

This themed group is not only aimed at developing taste perception! Children will work with recipes adapted for their age in which events of the year ("Week of Taste", Pancakes, an Easter cake) will take place. They will cook, taste and learn to eat properly by means of a food Pyramid!

The pedagogical purpose of this themed group is connected with the development of taste and aims to:

  • Enrich the lexicon of the child
  • Master new abilities and technologies
  • Develop motility
  • Master new mathematical concepts: order and standard
  • Develop oral and written language (drawing up and the description of recipes, an explanation of actions and gradual transition to written expression)

This themed group will teach children to share: after all, they will not only taste, but also to treat others!

Infinite number of sounds surrounds us every day., and the most beautiful of them are the sounds of music. During our lessons children will learn how to listen and to understand music, and will make the first steps as performers. We will develop musical skills (audition, rhythm, memory), visual thinking and imagination, aesthetic sensibility and worldview. Children will learn a lot of interesting things from the world of music (musical instruments, terms, symbols, composers) and will join it. The aim of these lessons is not not only to prepare children for entering a music school but to make them familiar with the art of music, so that concerts in future would attract them not with their mystery, but with fascinating and familiar magic of musical language.

One way a child develops is through creativity. Kids need to be able to express themselves, in many ways. An important feature of our Crafts classes is that they focuse on the process itself, rather than on the results. Inspired by creativity, the child begins to see beauty where perhaps it was not noticed before, and learns to compare and be interested in the results of others. Caught in a flight of fantasy, the child will get acquainted with samples of work by different artists. This is the first step of becoming a great artist. Crafts Workshop develops creative imagination and an ability to think outside the box.
This extracurricular class will develop:
• fantasy
• creative thinking and imagination
• spatial perception
• artistic skills
• aesthetic taste
We will work with different materials, using different techniques. String art, clay modeling, cutouts, and stained glass are just a few of the fun projects we will do with the children.

Our mini rugby classes are built on the basic principles and spirit of the rugby played in New Zealand, England and France.

The objectives of mini rugby are to allow children, aged three and above, to develop their motor skills, the ability to pass and catch a ball, their sense of balance, and the ability to move within a space. The children also learn the principles of the game, its' rules, as well as the gestures of the referee.

In these classes the children will have the opportunity to learn French in a fun and entertaining way. Vocabulary learned will include colours, geography, numbers, counting, among others. Children will also learn to interact within a group and develop the ability to work and play as a team.

There will be no risk of injury, as there will be no contact between the children. We do not learn the techniques of capturing the ball or blocking an opponent. We practice contactless rugby and contactless moves, which are very similar to the medieval predecessor of modern rugby, La Barette.

The class is structured as follows:

10 minute warm-up
15 minute first exercise
10 minute individual exercise
15 minute second exercise
10 minute team based rugby game

Through these exercises, the children will learn the following:

To control a rugby ball
To catch the ball
To pass the ball
To move from point A to point B
To move through the field
To recognize the colours of the ball

Rugby classes are conducted in French. Our teacher, Jean-Baptist, is a former player and referee of the French Rugby Federation (FRF). The class lasts 1 hour.
